Co-Constructing Learning Ecosystems (Co-CLE)

Co-Constructing Learning Ecosystems (Co-CLE)

Co-Constructing Healthy Learning Ecosystems (Co-CLE) is a workshop-based service for PK-12 schools. Our core process involves the active participation of key stakeholders (administrators, teachers, parents, and students). We customized our sessions to address your specific needs, wants, and aspirations to enable the optimal and contextual conditions for your learning ecosystem to thrive.

It’s Time to Hit the Pause Button

For schools members who want to hit the pause button and reconsider what matters most, we propose a workshop-based offering that supports the Co-Construction of Healthy Learning Ecosystems where multiple stakeholders participate to have their whole system focused on wellness and deep learning.

“Yes but…”

In our schools, we recognize there are things to change and yet, we are paralyzed due to the many “yes buts”…

Co-Constructing Learning Ecosystems is meant to hit the pause button in your school system so that an array of stakeholders can sit together and reconsider how to make essential changes to positively impact learners’ experiences. These changes might be complete shifts or tiny movements. They cause schools to realign with the very essence of learning, that is to intentionally create the optimal conditions for wellness and deep learning.

As we operate from an ECO-system perspective (and away from the EGO-system perspective), we can go deeper to understand the hidden goals behind the surface-level events and statements we hear.

For sustainable transformation, we need to co-construct by involving various stakeholders (administrators, parents, students, and teachers) and intentionally build healthy communities that thrive.

What are Learning Ecosystems?

A school or learning organization is a healthy learning ecosystem when the community experiences a sense of wellness and deep learning. Some indicators of thriving learning ecosystems may be illustrated by people’s sense of psychological safety, their feeling of competence, and self-governance. An environment that is flexible, where people listen to understand, co-create, and commit to developing transformative and sustainable practices. In such spaces, we are unafraid to ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo, and engage in divergent thinking for cognitive conflicts lead to internal and collective growth.

We propose an effective and flexible framework of practices for co-constructing and sustaining healthy learning ecosystems which can be adjusted to the needs and wants of particular schools. We lead multi-stakeholders workshops, with students, parents, and administrators alongside teachers.

3 Formats

Option 1 – Learning Ecosystem Retreat

A 5-day retreat on Co-Constructing Healthy Learning Ecosystems with 3-4 hours of sessions a day and practical experiences with the students and stakeholders of your system to reflect in action and make the learning concrete and contextualized for maximum impact.

  • Diving in (1 Day)
  • Attend to the heart (1 Day)
  • Exercise the mind (1 Day)
  • Engage the willpower (1 Day)
  • Action planning (1 Day)

Either on school campus/physical location or online, or hybrid.

Option 2 – Full-Day Workshop

You can only commit one day at a time, you might like to break the learning ecosystem into three parts, spaced in time, or even choose to only tackle a specific aspect that your community most needs. You can choose amongst the three one-day workshops and/or bundle them up:

  • Workshop 1- Attend to the heart
  • Workshop 2 – Exercise the mind
  • Workshop 3 – Engage the willpower

Either on school campus/physical location or online, or hybrid.

Option 3 – Practice Workshop (unconference style)

You have identified the specific practices you would like to develop in your context? Or perhaps you might want teachers to choose directly using an unconference-style format? Together, we can co-create the workshop based on the menu of practices under each theme.

Some of the questions we can answer together:

  • How might we support all stakeholders’ essential psychological needs and work collaboratively to serve all learners?
  • How might we integrate wellness and deep learning as interconnected parts of the whole ecosystem?
  • How might we intentionally co-construct the optimal conditions for students to thrive?
  • How might we model autonomy-support as leaders?
  • How might we build strong bonds with all stakeholders and find synergy in our shared goal for wellness and deep learning?
  • How might we support all stakeholders’ essential psychological needs and work collaboratively to serve all learners?
