It was a great experience to present and attend the 21st Century Conference in Hong Kong for the first time!
It reminded me how I could not go 2 years ago despite winning a free registration 🙁
I have come a long way and I am glad to have opportunities to develop professionally and feel supported by my school!
As a leader, I presented two session in Hong Kong: one on How to put the ISTE Standards for Students 2016 into practice
and one on Curriculum Mapping with G Suite:
As a learner, I attended several sessions, networked and had delightful time catching up with friends and meeting new people. Some of the sessions that particularly got my attention were:
- The FishBowl PD: Professional Development That Works by the inseparable Steve Katz and Ben Summerton where I got some new ideas about engaging and enpowering teachers, for instance how important it is to offer many sessions for PD (and short ones)
- Transform Your IT Department in a Service Unit by Matt Harris where I really appreciated the insights and relevance of the topic and want to take it back to discuss with my team to improve the “service” part of Tech Support
- The Data Innovator’s Mindset by Anita Sherwin-Hamer where I reinforced my beliefs about relevant and timely feedback, formative assessments techniques and the importance of collaborating with students about creating assessment (including rubric) and peer & self-assessment
Thank you 21st Century Learning Team for all the great work! Hope to join again in 2018!
I am so happy you got to go to Hong Kong this year. I missed going this year after attending twice. Maybe next year…Glad we will get to meet at ISTE though!!!
Yes, looking forward to it!
